"The Misfits"

The Misfit Chronicles Continue
Hello Misfits!
You can tell by the size of the group--The MISFITS were jammin'!!!  The weather was perfect and so was the company as we headed out on another in our continuing series of rides into the great wide open.  At one time we must have had close to 40 bikes!  Welcome to new Misfits Wil, Nancy, Jutta, John, Katherine, Jim Bo, Rene, Steve, Trevor, and Julie!  Look what you've gotten yourself into...Ah, but it's all good!  Also a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Adria and Danny!  It was such fun to celebrate the special day with both of you.
After taking over the Melbourne VFW (if this keeps up, they'll have to have the cagers park out on the street so there'll be room for all of the Misfit bikes!), we headed north to Titusville under blue skies.  We made most of the lights all the way to Titusville and then turned east at the end of Garden Street for the scenic ride through the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge.  The recent rains had increased the water level in the Refuge restoring its beauty.  In the interior, we slowed way down so that everyone could get a good view of the canal as we crossed over the old drawbridge.  Then the rolling thunder Misfit Parade continued on to Oak Hill where we took our group picture.  We saw Mark and Paula riding north and hope that they will come back and ride with us soon.  When I'm not watching the Misfits having a good time, I watch the people that go by and the looks on their faces.  Most are smiling, some look in amazement as if to say, "Holy s___!  Look at all those bikes!", and some have the look as if to say, "I wish I could be doing that."  Wherever the Misfits go, we specialize in fun and the camaraderie of the road.
Then it was on to Maytown Road and the 23 mile ride to Osteen and Foxhead.  Maytown Road is a little on the bumpy side, but its beauty, serenity, and lack of cage traffic more than make up for the butt bouncing.  We rolled en masse into the Foxhead parking lot and settled in for some R&R.  Got to see Tom again who lives close by in Deltona.  Hey Tom, sure hope you can link up with us for a ride sometime!  Poppa Ron's outrageous Misfit Flagship Trike had some relatively serious rear end problems, but after some creative repairs via John's tool kit,  Poppa Ron and Lisa were able to continue on with us.  We lost Mark and Jamie at Kelly's Bait when his rear brake seized up.  That problem was circumvented (again thanks to John's tool kit! I thought I had a pretty good tool kit 'til I saw John's!) by disconnecting the rear brake and relying on the front brake to get them home.  The Misfits are always ready to extend a hand in friendship and to help out.
From Foxhead, most of us took the country route through Geneva, Fort Christmas, and Taylor Creek back to Lone Cabbage where we concluded our day.  Despite the mishaps, it was another good run for the Misfit clan!
Thanks so much to all of you for the good wishes on the advent of mine and Bonnie's 30th wedding anniversary!
