Sunday's Ride
The Misfit Chronicles Continue......
Hello Misfits,
Just a bunch of friends who enjoy
riding-that's the Misfits! I think we must have come close to setting some
kind of Misfit record this week for our ride to St. Cloud. There are some
different people in both pics as some left before we got to the Silver
Dollar in St. Cloud, and some joined us @ the Post Road 7-ll and others
along S.R.192. Counting everyone that rode at different times, we had 42
bikes-AWESOME! We create a spectacle everywhere we go. When we rolled into
the Silver Dollar parking lot, there was one barmaid working; naturally when
she saw all of the Misfit bikes coming in at once she did what any normal
person would do under the circumstances-she FREAKED! It was pretty much SRO
(standing room only) on the porch of the Silver Dollar when we all packed
in. I just stood there looking at a veritable sea of bikes in the parking
lot.
That
was pretty much the scene at HESS this morning and at the Melbourne VFW; at
least those two places are somewhat used to us. I say "somewhat" 'cause who
could ever get used to the Misfits! One things for sure, we always have a
great time. I want to welcome new Misfits Kristin, Steven, Jim, Gary, Beth,
Kathy, Trip, Bruce, Joey, Darlene, Vicky, Mike, Robyn's friend (sorry I
didn't write down your name but it was great having you ride), and anyone
else I forgot! It also was good to have Scott (from Round 2 Motorcycles)
ride with us again and thanks for bringing Vicky, Trip, Kathy, and
Bruce from the shop along, too! Ditto having Rob and Cindy back out riding
as well as Tom and Moe who brought along their friend Jim. Victoria is back
from New York after her successful surgery-welcome back, Victoria! Welcome
back too to Bob Patt who brought out his Ultra Classic for our ride today.
Great to see you, Bob!
Somebody asked me recently what the Misfits
are about. I told her that the Misfits are about riding motorcycles and
sharing the passion of being in the wind together. The Misfits are
comprised of all kinds of people riding all kinds of bikes. When we get on
the road together and come rolling in to the various disreputable places
that we frequent, the good vibes are palpable. Yep, we have a good time.
Whatever your week was like or whatever hassles are going on in your life
during the week, you know you can leave it all behind for a few hours and
ride with the Misfits on Sunday. There's nothing like rolling down the open
road with the wind in your hair.
Bob Kelleher patiently updated many of us
on Chelsea Foltz's condition. Bob has been through it this week holding
down the fort while his loved ones are away. Thank God that Chelsea is
doing better and is continuing to improve. Bob passed along Chelsea's
address so any of you who want to can write to her. I know that Irene will
make sure she gets whatever you send. Please keep her and all of our
valiant service men and women in your prayers.
